Lifeskills Promoters (LISP) is a Christian organization founded in 1999 in Kenya to work with and among children and youth in addressing their challenges using values- based life skills approaches. LISP works through and collaborates with government institutions, religious, academic institutions, business entities and non-state entities to equip in and out of school children and youth and their influencers with life skills and behavioral skills for productivity and employability. This is driven by her vision which is to see a well-developed and empowered young people who are productive and responsible in life. LISP’s mission is to transform young people and their influencers through life skills training and economic empowerment.
LISP intends to implement a youth employability and productivity project in counties of Nakuru, Nairobi, Kisumu, Kwale, Mombasa, Nyandarua, Machakos, Kitui, Migori, Kisii, Kakamega, Bungoma, Turkana, Kilifi, Wajir, Mandera, and Kiambu with possibility of expansion to other counties. The main target group will be youth between 18 and 29 years of age, who are without jobs and have experienced extended spells of unemployment or who are currently working in vulnerable jobs. The level of education of targeted beneficiaries is any level of schooling up to Form 4. Part of the components of the proposed project will involve a 2 weeks life skills training. The Life Skills Training (LST) is intended to equip the youth beneficiaries with adaptive and positive behaviour that enable them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life.
LISP is seeking for suitable candidates to be considered for the position of Key Life Skills Trainer to be based in any of the counties listed above.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Should have at least a Diploma in Education, or equivalent,
At least three (3) years’ experience in delivering Life Skills Training, preferably gained in a similar setting with emphasis on the youth.
Proficiency in English and Kiswahili. Ability to communicate fluently in at least one of the local languages spoken in the listed counties will be an added advantage.
Must have attained or exceeded 25 years in age.
