Lifeskills Promoters-LISP in partnership with the Ministry of Education is implementing a pilot project to enhance the Prevention and Management of Emerging Forms of Violence ((PMEFV)) programme under the inter country quality node on peace education. Inter-Country Quality Nodes (ICQNs) under the Association for Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) are inter-country mechanisms that provide a platform for exchange of experiences and collaborative action to promote education for sustainable development. Hosted by a champion country, the ICQNs facilitate the development of a community of practice that brings together its country members around commonly-shared education and training challenges. The Inter Country Quality Node (ICQN) on Peace Education is hosted by the Ministry of Education Kenya under the Directorate of Policy, Partnerships and East African Community Affairs.
The principal objective of the intervention is to develop a framework for imparting knowledge and skills for preventing and management of emerging forms of violence in the institutions of learning. This is being implemented in seven counties namely Kwale, Garissa, Nairobi, Muranga, Kisumu, Isiolo, and Bungoma out of which two schools each have been identified for purposes of capacity building and pilot phase of the project.
